We are currently recruiting for a production worker to support our team in North Shore (formerly Malagash), located in Northern Nova Scotia. A production worker is responsible for working on the bottling and/or canning lines. This includes loading bottles on the bottling line or packaging filled bottles/cans from the bottling/canning lines. This job requires a keen eye for any mislabeled or defective bottles/cans, watching and alerting the team of any issues or low inputs on the line. This job may also include crossing training as a cellar worker. A cellar worker is responsible for sanitizing tanks, hoses and other general cleaning of the cellar as well as pumping wine, tank additions and other wine related tasks.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals that will work closely with our production team and report to our production supervisor or manager. This position is a full-time, year round, permanent position.

Special Note: Ability to live in and/or commute to North Shore, Nova Scotia, required.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a desire to work in an efficient and safe manner. Ability to live in rural, Nova Scotia or in commuting is necessary. Practical experience working on a production line or manufacturing environment is desirable but not necessary; we will train suitable candidates.
Qualifications:
- Highly motivated and have a strong work ethic.
- Able to multitask and can work well in a team.
- Motivated and passionate about getting the job done well.
- Able to perform physical-demanding work on a regular basis.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and can work at heights.
- Willing to work long hours, that may include weekends during harvest if required.
- WHMIS training, a forklift certificate and confined space training is an asset but not mandatory- successful candidates will be trained.
Job descriptions and responsibilities:
Daily/year-round tasks
- Ability to work with a team on the bottling and canning lines as well as cross train as a cellar worker
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Load or unload bottles/cans from production lines
- Monitoring quality control on labels, capsules etc while packaging products
- Monitoring inputs (capsules, corks) and alerting the team if problems are detected
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe cellar environment.
- Repackage cans and bottles into different boxes as needed.
- If working as a cellar worker, you will help the team sanitize tanks, hoses and other general cleaning of the cellar as well as pump wine, make tank additions and other wine related tasks.
Harvest tasks
*In addition to working on the production line/in the cellar, you may be required to work in the crush pad during harvest. This may include:
- Weighing bins of grapes, running crusher/de-stemmer, and operating pumps and presses.
- Fill, empty and thoroughly clean presses (Membrane presses).
- Clean grape bins, crush pad and all grape processing equipment on a regular basis
- Perform pump-overs/punch-downs, red fermentation tank dig outs and racking.
- Perform sugar and other additions to juice/wine
