Gaspereau Red 2020
Gaspereau Red is a small lot red made from a unique blend of the classic Nova Scotia grape varieties including Marechal Foch, Triomphe D’Alsace and Lucie Kuhlmann. The wines were fermented in individual batches, blended then aged in both French and Hungarian oak barrels for 13 months. With a balance of both strength and elegance, this red is an ideal food wine, pairing well with slow roasted meats, tomato-based pasta dishes and an array of BBqued dishes.

The nose of this small lot red is filled with notes of clove and cinnamon-infused dark berry fruit with soft undertones of toasted oak and vanilla. There are multiple layers of aromatics expressed this wine, making the nose very complex and continuously-evolving.
Notes of black cherry and spice persist on the palate on this complex, oak-aged red wine. The wine opens up elegantly into integrated layers of soft tannins, vanilla and clove-spiced plum on the finish. The wine is of medium weight and has a long and complex finish.
An ideal food wine, pairing well with slow roasted meats, tomato-based pasta dishes and an array of barbecued dishes.
