Gaspereau L’Acadie Blanc
L'Acadie Blanc is a very distinct wine from a grape variety that is almost exclusive to Nova Scotia . The variety is the result of breeding programs looking for varieties suitable for colder climates. Naturally showing resistance to common vineyard problems such as mildew, it ripens grapes to produce wines in the spectrum of higher acid, lightly aromatic styles. This may express itself in very delicate notes of liquorice, iris and mint.
The grapes for the L’Acadie Blanc were harvested October, pressed immediately and cool fermented to retain the concentrated aromas from the grapes. The nose displays aromas of citrus and apple with overtones of candied pears.
On the palate, L’Acadie Blanc shows fresh apple and pear notes combined with a crisp, refreshing acidity. Hints of citrus and gooseberry follow through to a refreshing yet smooth finish.
L’Acadie Blanc is an ideal pairing for the Maritime classics of pan-fried haddock or the traditional fish and chips. Fresh goat cheese, cream-based pasta and many chicken dishes.
L’Acadie Blanc, made from Nova Scotia’s quintessential grape variety L’Acadie, is a crisp, dry white wine that pairs perfectly with local seafood, shellfish and cheeses.
